The Airlie Beach Outdoor Cinema, located on the Airlie Beach foreshore is now completed and ready for action!
The semi-permanent construction is a 5.5m by 3 metre shipping container style construction

The retractable screen can be raised to approximately 20 feet above the ground and is in a suitable position to cater for large crowd of people. It’s located on the far west side of the Airlie Beach foreshore, where the Airlie Beach markets are located every Saturday.

There are plans to play g-rated movies and non-commercial movies which will all be free to watch.

There is plans to have the Airlie Beach outdoor cinema painted by a local artist, which will make the design more appealing on the eye as well as showcasing local artists.

Ms Clifford from the Whitsunday Regional Council hopes they will be able to show recent kids movies, which will encourage family outings for the locals and tourists from around the region.

The PCYC have organized to run a film night once per month, with plans to encourage expressions of interest to fill up other time slots for entertainment.
